Managed Nodes

Owning a Mythic Spell Book Node does not mean you have to manage every part of the city yourself.

GreyDragon supports three different owner pathways.

You can learn to manage your own Node.

You can remain an active Mythic Spell Book player while GreyDragon manages the city.

Or you can remain a passive owner and have GreyDragon manage the city on your behalf.

The Node remains yours. The difference is who manages the day-to-day development of the city.

Which Type of Node Owner Are You?

Active Owner — I Want to Manage My Own Node

You actively play Mythic Spell Book and want to operate your own city.

GreyDragon is developing a separate Node Owner Training pathway for owners who want to learn the management methods themselves.

The training pathway is intended to cover areas such as city development, infrastructure, Cinder generation, controlled population growth, resource production, road and Supply planning, diagnosing bottlenecks and deciding what should be built next.

This will be an optional add-on to standard GreyDragon membership.

LEARN ABOUT NODE OWNER TRAINING

Active Owner — I Want GreyDragon to Manage My City

You still participate in Mythic Spell Book, but you do not want to spend your time running the city.

GreyDragon manages the city while you participate elsewhere in the game.

An active owner may also be able to support the city’s development through wider gameplay, resource gathering, minigames, trading, selling resources or purchasing what the city requires.

GreyDragon identifies what the city needs.

You remain responsible for deciding how the required resources are supplied.

SEE HOW MANAGED NODE SERVICE WORKS

Passive Owner — Manage It for Me

You own the Node but do not intend to actively manage or play the city.

GreyDragon manages the city’s development and day-to-day operation within the permissions available to the Node Manager.

You do not need to understand every production chain, staffing issue, infrastructure requirement or development decision.

GreyDragon reviews the city, identifies what it needs and develops the management plan.

A passive owner still needs to provide the resources required when the city cannot supply them itself.

Managed Node Service

GreyDragon manages the planning and normal operation of the city while you remain the Node Owner.

Management can include construction, upgrading, repairs, moving buildings, infrastructure planning, staffing, population management, production, road and Supply capacity, utilities, diagnosing shortages and deciding what the city requires next.

The objective is not simply to build more buildings.

The objective is to develop a city that can support itself, continue progressing and make sensible use of the owner’s resources.

Every building needs a purpose.

What GreyDragon Can Manage

Within the permissions provided to the Node Manager, GreyDragon can carry out normal city-management activities such as building, upgrading, repairing and moving buildings, hiring staff and using available Cinder and resources for authorised city development.

GreyDragon can also review infrastructure, monitor shortages, adjust development priorities and determine what the city requires before further population or economic expansion.

What GreyDragon Cannot Control

GreyDragon does not gain unrestricted control of the owner’s assets.

A Node Manager cannot simply sell, transfer or allocate the owner’s resources however they choose.

GreyDragon cannot claim the owner’s Vault, use owner-controlled cards, freely sell resources, alter owner-controlled PRNs, enter events on the owner’s behalf or transfer the owner’s assets.

The management role is there to operate the city.

It does not transfer ownership of the Node or the owner’s wider Mythic Spell Book account.

Your Node Still Belongs to You

GreyDragon manages the city.

GreyDragon does not become the owner of the Node.

The Node Owner remains responsible for the Node and for supplying the resources required for development when those resources are not available from city production.

GreyDragon’s role is to determine what the city needs and use the resources made available for approved city development.

The Management Agreement

Managed Node service operates through an agreement between the Node Owner and GreyDragon through mythicspellbook.xyz.

Under the current GreyDragon arrangement, GreyDragon receives no less than 30% of the Cinder, resources and cards generated by the city.

That is GreyDragon’s management share for operating the city.

It is separate from the resources required to build and develop the owner’s city.

Management Share and Build Capital Are Different

GreyDragon Management Share

GreyDragon receives the agreed percentage of Cinder, resources and cards generated by the managed city.

This is compensation for operating and developing the city.

Owner Build Capital

The Node Owner supplies the Cinder and resources required for construction, upgrades, repairs and other city development when the city cannot provide them itself.

GreyDragon’s management share is not a pool of capital that automatically funds the owner’s future construction.

Management compensation and city development funding are two separate things.

Active Managed Owner

An active owner has more ways to support the city.

You may be able to obtain the required Cinder and resources through normal gameplay, gathering, minigames, resource sales, trading or purchasing resources.

GreyDragon identifies the requirement.

The owner decides how to obtain it.

This gives active owners the option of using their wider Mythic Spell Book activity to help accelerate development.

Passive Managed Owner

HTML Anchor: passive-managed-owner

A passive owner does not need to actively play Mythic Spell Book.

GreyDragon identifies the city’s requirements and the owner supplies the resources or funding needed to meet them.

This may mean purchasing Cinder or resource packs when the city does not produce enough of what is required.

Passive management removes the need to run the city. It does not remove the cost of developing the Node.

How GreyDragon Develops a City

GreyDragon uses staged development rather than trying to build everything at once.

Foundation

Establish the basic production, infrastructure and support systems the city requires to function.

Stabilisation

Measure what the city produces, what it consumes and where shortages or bottlenecks are developing.

Weak areas are corrected before unnecessary expansion.

Controlled Growth

Increase population and economic activity only when the city’s infrastructure can support the additional demand.

Economic Development

Use new City Level unlocks, population and production capacity to expand the city’s economic activity and improve Cinder generation.

Optimisation

Continue improving the city as its population, economy, unlocks and game mechanics change.

The public site explains this overall approach.

The exact GreyDragon building quantities, build sequence and operational methodology remain part of the Managed Node service and client material.

City Level Progression

City progression is driven by Cinder production.

As the city produces more Cinder, its City Level increases.

Higher City Levels unlock additional buildings and development opportunities.

That means improving the city’s ability to generate Cinder is an important part of long-term development.

But GreyDragon does not pursue Cinder production in isolation.

The city still needs enough infrastructure and resources to support the economic activity producing that Cinder.

New Unlocks Change the Development Plan

As City Level increases, new development options become available.

For example, important production and accommodation options become available at later City Levels, and some buildings also require specific resources before they can be constructed.

An unlocked building is therefore not automatically the next building that should be placed.

GreyDragon reviews what has unlocked against what the city actually needs.

An unlock creates an option. It does not create an obligation to build it.

Population Is Part of the Cinder Engine

Population is one of the important drivers of city economic activity and Cinder production.

But increasing population also increases demand.

More residents can mean greater pressure on Power, Water, Sewerage, Food, Health, housing, staffing and other city systems.

GreyDragon therefore does not simply release as much population as possible.

Population growth is controlled.

Infrastructure first. Population second.

The aim is to increase population when the city has the capacity to support it rather than allowing growth to create a new crisis.

Development Can Require External Resources

A city cannot always produce every resource it needs at the time it needs it.

A future building or upgrade may require resources that have not yet entered the city’s production chain.

When this happens, GreyDragon identifies the shortfall.

An active owner may be able to obtain those resources through gameplay or the wider Mythic Spell Book economy.

A passive owner may need to purchase them.

The exact requirement is identified as part of the managed city’s development planning.

Planning Before Building

A Mythic Spell Book city has limits.

Space is limited.

Road capacity is limited.

Supply capacity is limited.

Utilities have capacity.

Population creates demand.

Production chains depend on other systems.

GreyDragon therefore considers the wider city before committing resources to a new building.

A build decision can involve terrain, roads, Supply capacity, Power, Water, Sewerage, housing, staffing, population, production chains, City Level unlocks and the space required for future development.

The question is not simply:

Can we build this?

The more useful question is:

Should we build this now?

Road and Supply Planning Matter

Road capacity is not unlimited.

Supply infrastructure determines how much road network the city can support.

That makes road planning part of city development rather than something added without consequence.

GreyDragon therefore considers future road demand and city layout before committing to large expansions.

The exact GreyDragon layouts, calculations and build specifications are part of the management methodology and are not published on the public service page.

The GreyDragon Management Cycle

Review → Identify the bottleneck → Plan → Confirm resources → Build → Stabilise → Measure again

The city is reassessed after significant development.

If the new development changes production, population, staffing or infrastructure demand, those effects become part of the next review.

Managed Node development is therefore an ongoing process rather than a fixed build list.

Every Building Has a Purpose

GreyDragon does not use the philosophy of constructing disposable buildings simply to reach the next stage.

Every building is placed because it serves either a current requirement or a planned future role.

That does not mean every building must remain forever.

Mythic Spell Book is currently in Open Beta.

The game can change, the city’s requirements can change and a building that once served an important purpose may eventually become unnecessary.

If a building is demolished, the game returns 50% of its original build cost.

That still does not make unnecessary construction free.

GreyDragon’s goal is to make the best decision with the information available at the time.

GreyDragon Does Not Promise a Fixed Build

There is no single permanent build that will suit every Node.

Nodes can develop differently.

Available resources can differ.

Owners can have different levels of participation.

Game mechanics can change during Open Beta.

A Managed Node plan therefore responds to the actual condition of the city rather than blindly following a public checklist.

That is also why GreyDragon does not publish the exact Managed Node build sequence on the public website.

What a Managed Node Client Receives

A Managed Node client gets more than someone simply placing buildings.

GreyDragon provides an ongoing management process that can include city reviews, development priorities, resource requirements, infrastructure analysis, growth decisions and reporting.

The purpose is to give the Node Owner visibility into what is happening and why the next action is being taken.
