Azathoth The Outer Gods (A.K.A. The Blind Idiot God)
Azathoth, known as “The Blind Idiot God,” is an enigmatic entity defying description. Accounts of Azathoth are subject to the individual’s imagination, a miasma of shifting dimensional realities.
The most accurate depiction surrounding Azathoth is in an eternal slumber, a state that sustains the existence of humanity and all that surrounds it. In the Azathoth theory, all is but a figment of his dream, and we are merely the extension of Azathoth’s subconscious.
Ancient texts found after the destruction of the earth suggest that Azathoth brought forth eight beings which we would call Demi Gods. Among them was Abraxas, the embodiment of manifestation and thought.
Abraxas’s role is to maintain Azathoth manifestations while he sleeps. Before Earth was created Abraxas learned that when Azathoth woke all his creations created while he slept would disappear as if never created when he woke.
Abraxas had learned that she could also create and began to fear that her creations would disappear if Azathoth woke. Abraxas developed a plan to ensure Azathoth remained in slumber.
Abraxas convinced her seven siblings to employ their instruments and create music that could lull Azathoth back to sleep. For should he awaken, their very existence, much like the lifeforms that came before them, would be wiped out from existence.
Azathoth creation
There is no known understanding of how Azathoth came to be, much like Vintreus his brother. In recent times a rumor of how Azathoth and Vintrius came to be has been spreading like wildfire. The rumour suggests that Azathoth was created alongside his brother Vintreus when the primordial void turned its attention inwards.
The rumour is believed to have been started by a person now going by the name Grey Dragon, previously James. The Secure Protect Foundation (SCP) interviewed Grey Dragon but has not made a statement in regards to the rumour.
Azathoths other name
Azathoth is also called the blind idiot god by his brother Vintreus. He earned this nickname from his brother when he created Abraxas and her seven siblings. Vintreus believed that the eight would be their downfall. Visit Vintreus’s page to see why.
